Do I have to open additional ports to use SSL with courier-pop3d-ssl and courier-imapd-ssl?
I couldn't connect until I ran the non-ssl daemons (courier-pop3d, courier-imapd).

Yes they do use alternate ports unlike smtp which always uses 25. You will need to open.
993 for imapd-ssl
995 for pop3d-ssl
I would just turn off the non-ssl ports. Too easy to snoop on. |
