Hi. I'm trying to install and I'm following the handbook.
When I try to run "emerge system", everything runs fine, but the program will not find the all the src's to download and aborts. I'm wondering how I can get it to find the files or try alternate sites from which to download.

emerge mirrorselect and run it, then try again |

You can control mirrors by setting GENTOO_MIRRORS to /etc/make.conf. Get a few nearest mirrors from here and put them to your /etc/make.conf.
6thpink: mirrorselect is a bit flakey and I highly recommend choosing mirrors manually.

Said that for an easy way, but your right Oktane, anyway i only used it one time, and time ago (many monts) as i live in spain and mirrorselect seems to hardly dislike this country.  |
