|
|
I've been encoding some DVDs using mencoder (1.0_pre5 and 1.0_pre4) and I've noticed that when using MP3 audio (-oac mp3lame), there are slight sync problems - maybe 0.5 seconds out here and there.
If I use AC3 pass through (-oac copy) or I use AC3 encoding (eg -oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=ac3:abitrate=128), there's no problem at all.
I've tried a brand new installation of Gentoo, and the same problem exists. Anyone else seeing this? |

I havent had any sync probs with mencoder, however I did have sync problems with mplayer and DVB.
Adding Code: | :adevice=/dev/sound/dsp | to my mplayer commands fixed the audio sync problem.
Edit: found the original thread that solved my problems...

It looks like it may be a problem with playback with mplayer. I tried a file that I encoded with mencoder with Xine and the a/v sync looks fine. |
