how do I copy my entire root to another HD.. without losing symlinks etc...
tar takes ages.. and I just want to move it from one HD to another... without dataloss... _________________ Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not after me. |

no problem.
you will want the -l switch to copy links as links.
the --dry-run switch is very handy.
man rsync and some google you should have all the info you need.
just make sure to use your new disk for a while before blowing away you old stuff. |
