If this is not the correct forum please redirect (but it is a GUI desktop app).
Problem:
Starting up Eclipse as a normal user does NOT work (keeps on referring me back to have a look at the .metadata dir, soo?).
CLASSPATH is ok (eclipse as well, see below)
The catch:
Running Eclipse as root is totally ok opening closing etc.
Environ:
2.5.50 (working totally fine, makes X FINALLY feel a lot better)
Eclipse & all SDK's have been emerged and work ok
did a chmod -R 777 on the eclipse dir & made sure that even other could RW in the workspace on the user dir
If anybody has got any suggestions it would be much appreciated

I'm at a loss here, but anyway.
I always run Eclipse from my home directory, so that it creates the workspace dir at ~/workspace.
Try removing the directory if it exists (or renaming it out of the way) and starting it up from here. |
