Non mi sembra di non aver modificato niente....non ho firewall per la connessione...

nessun cambiamento.... 
ma cosa servirebbe fare "emerge metadata" ? (si,lo so, devo leggermi il manuale....  )
comunque il mio portage non synca ancora con il metodo tradizionale..
"emerge-webrsync" invece funziona....

Ho un router che mi serve tutta la lan, ma non ho fatto alcun cambiamento nella configurazione del firewall...

fai nano /etc/make.conf
e modifica la riga che riguarda il sync!prova a metterci un altro server
tipo SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"
o SYNC="rsync://ftp.belnet.be/linux/gentoo-portage" (è una skeggia) |

anche io ho da proporvi un quesito:
ho letto i vari post ed ho controllato il mio make.conf
con il tutto funzionante.
in effetti io non ho assolutamente niente che riguardi il SYNC.

e mi sono detto. ma guarda che bello: posso provare il mirror "veloce"
ed allora l'ho aggiunto ed ho fatto una prova.
ma mi segnala lo stesso tipo di errore che si ritrova Cerberos86.
ho rimosso la linea di codice ed il tutto ha ripreso a funzionare normalmente.
se può essere d'aiuto.

Beh, diciamo che dopo aver cambiato mirror è funzionato (ha ricevuto la lista dei file e in questo momento sta aggiornando gli ebuild)...

più che "il mirror veloce" nel make.conf potresti inserire I MIRRORS veloci.... poi se li becca portage (non so se in ordine di successione o random...)

Dovrebbe sempre usare il primo se non va quello allora passa al secondo e cosi' via se non sbaglio
