but only sometimes!
running ps aux yields the normal information, except for the USER column.
Code: | ...
root 589 0.0 0.0 1360 336 ? S<s 20:04 0:00 udevd
...
102 8152 0.0 0.1 26512 792 ? SNl 20:04 0:02 /opt/foldingathome/client1/foldingathome -advmethods
...
mysql 9378 0.0 0.7 23336 3716 ? Sl 20:04 0:00 /usr/sbin/mysqld
...
1000 10854 0.1 2.2 15492 11808 ? Ss 20:05 0:12 xchat-2
|
It correctly shows things running as root as root, and mysql works too, but otherwise it shows 1000 for my user ( pufferfish ), and 102 for foldingathome
I assume the proper format is to show the username always. |

Okay I figured it out. It's because pufferfish is too long a string. The maximum is 8 characters. HTH _________________ The free market gave me gonorrhea. |
