I can run wvdial as an average user (not sudoer) but anyway i have to run browsers and other web applications using sudo
Or cannot go out to the web...

what browsers are you using? i know for some gtk applications yo need to run them as root 'su - ' after installing, then you can run them as normal user. and are you sure your username is in the groups that can run web apps? there might need to be more than one catagories. |

Browsers are different (lynx, firefox, konqueror, dillo, w3c etc), not the matter. pings dont go out, wget dont work too.
Im in the groups: wheel audio dialout video games mysql apache users portage fax noobix
WHAT SHOULD I DO PLEASE?!?.....

Yes I do but the moment i connect and get an ip i have it -rw------- again. Damn!.. |

And my groups are: wheel portage dialout
(since adding myself to the dialout group i can ...uhm... dialout : )
Cant believe im the only one stuck with this recursively annoying trouble
It's (/etc/resolv.conf) is readable by all users until I just log in to the web...
PLEASE HELP !!! |

had a similar problem. bit different because it was on our router.
on this router dnsmasq utilised /etc/resolv.conf which was set 0600 by ip-up.
just changed this in /etc/ppp/ip-up to 0644 and it was working again. |
