yes, yes, i know the risks. my question simply is how do i get it onto one of my partions (not boot). also, how do i get the nitro kernels that support reiser4? just emerge gentoo-mm-sources? any help is appreciated! _________________ Acer Aspire 5672 |

yea, but that doesn't support amd64 yet. and besides, i've already bootstrapped and emerge system. and it was my /home partition i wanted it on. do you know what the command to load it is or do i have to use a reiser4 livecd? _________________ Acer Aspire 5672 |

for create and manage reiser4 partitions you must
emerge reiser4progs and have a kernel with support for reiser4.
Then you can use
debugfs.reiser4
fsck.reiser4
mkfs.reiser4
resizefs.reiser4

you must create a partiton with cfdisk or another program
(qtparted ecc) then you can create the filesystem with
#mkfs.reiser4 /dev/name of partition
Now you can mount the partition where do you want:
#mount -t reiser4 /dev/partition /home
If you want that is run during the boot
you can edit /etc/fstab |
