Hello all,

I'm relatively new to Linux - all I've ever done was intsall RH9, and then ended up uninstalling it because I couldn't use my wireless card with it. Well, I just built my first computer, and wanted to start fresh. So, my questions are....

1.) Does anyone know how to get my card working? If so, will it require me to compile the kernal (with something like ndiswrapper)? If I do, how would I do that?

2.) Will I have to do anything different since I'm on the x86-64?

Thanks in advance,

Dom Pody

Patience my boy.

why don't you just start installing Gentoo first. When you have everything online and booted normally, emerge ndiswrapper.
The man pages will guide you further.

You'll have to run in pure 32-bit mode to get the wireless card working afaik

Use a standard x86 live CD and don't enable any 64 goodness.

Really though - get an atheros based card - mine works lovely in amd 64 land :)

 I hope there is someone working on a 64 bit version of it?

Are there any projects running which might need some testing? I'm volunteering....
