Hi,
I'm affraid this might sound like a newby question but I just can't get it to work.
I'd like to try to upgrade xorg to 3.8 (now 3.7) I know this seems to give problems for a lot of people but I think it might solve my mouse problem so I want to give it a try.
In the old days I would just do Code: | emerge -up /usr/portage/x11-base/xorg-x11/xorg-x11-6.8.0-r3.ebuild |
But now I should use the /etc/portage/package.keywords file
if I understand "man portage" correctly adding the line Code: | =xorg-x11/xorg-x11-6.8.0-r3 ~ppc | should do the trick, but after that "emerge -up xorg-x11" refuses to do anything.
Even if I change that line to Code: | xorg-x11/xorg-x11 ~ppc | nothing happens.
Am I missing something here? Thanks,
Jan. |

It should be:
Code: | x11-base/xorg-x11 ~ppc |
