Hi...I just bought a new centrino laptop. You can get more info about it at these sites:

http://www.uniwill.com/products/mobility/223ii0/223ii0.php?HL=2&M=1 - original ODM

http://www.alienware.com - Sentia (rebranded)

http://www.linuxcertified.com/linux-laptop-lc2100.html (rebranded)

These laptops are great, small, powerfull and it comes with an embedded linux media player!
I just booted knoppix 3.7 and everything works great except for X which didnt load at 1280x800.

This machine comes with a 12.1" WXGA LCD and runs at 1280x800 resolution.
Here is my lspci:

Which driver for X is best for this chipset? I heard that intel has made a driver available, is that better then Xorg 6.8.1 i810 driver?

I emailed the manufacturer and they don't have any specs on the LCD panel, so I donno what hsync and vsync and modeline to put in xorgconfig. :?

Can someone with the same chipset as me post their xorgconfig or their modeline, Thanks!

regards,
Lenk

opps... and I'm using the i810 driver

I too was looking at the intel driver, but can't find much on the forums about it.

Perhaps you can just try both? and see which is better for you.

:)
