hi, i just installed the 2.4.26-r9 kernel. i've configured grub but when it boots, it uses fb and i have a laptop so i can't see what's going on. and i think i need to because the last line i see is
Code: |
umount: /dev: Invalid argument
|
i get the feeling there's something else below that but i can't see and it's frozen there. do i just add a "nofb" at the end of the root line in grub.conf? |

If you have video= on your kernel boot line, try removing it. This has always worked on my machine - when the framebuffer mode is not specified it falls back to the normal SVGA console. I use matroxfb, so the your results may vary.
Good luck. |
