I emerged UT2004 and when i run it it says
Code:
WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change!
Xlib:  extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]
Aborting.

I have a Radeon9600Pro and have it set up with ati-drivers and direct rendering is on. My kernel is 2.6.9-gentoo-r9. Thanks for the help

You never posted an error...

Try looking in ~/.ut2004/System/UT2004.log

it turned out that my PCM volume was at a very low level. I have another question though. Is there anyway I can make UT run faster and with less stutterng? Thanks

More RAM... faster CPU...

There's also some tweaks you can probably do to your ~/.ut2004/System/UT2004.ini file to give a little bit of speed improvement.

http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=40 has some good tips.

well thats the thing. I used to run faster on half the ram and a geforce2mx440 then my current rig so i'm thinking something is wrong with my setup.

I agree with NewBlackDak

ATI cards are pretty bad for Linux machines... Best to get yourself an nVidia card for playing games on Linux.
