Hi!
I know, this question is not directly related with Gentoo, but maybe somone have some expirience.
I'm looking for Wireless router with DHCP server inside which have an ability to assign IP addresses staitaclly by the MAC. ie. like it is done in regular dhcpd.conf by:
Code: | host HOSTNAME {
hardware ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;
fixed-address 192.168.0.102;
}
|
For example D-Link routers have this feature, but they have other problems whic make them unusable for me.
Can somebody share the expiriens?
Thank YOU! |

I can highly recommend a buffalo airstation. I also own a linksys wrt54g, but the airstation is a lot better. Things like intrusion detection emails and wireless bridge mode make it outstanding for the price. Yes it does static DHCP, and also 256bit AES with hardware ![Smile :)](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I'm looking at linksys wrv54g, just now and I must say -- there no such thing here as "Static DHCP".
Also friend of mine checked wrt54g, yestoday and did not find this option. |
