Hello!
I'm kinda stuck and I hope you can help me.
First scenario:
Linux laptop works at home with WEP enabled
want to work at school, they have a w2secure 802.1x network.
specs:
Gentoo with main 2.6.8-rc2-xyz kernel, and sometimes nitro 2.6.8 also
gcc 3.3.3
I wanted to do this installation script:
Code: |
tar -zxf xsupplicant-0.8b -C /usr/src
tar -zxf orinoco-0.13e.tar.gz -C /usr/src
cp orinoco-no-promisc.patch /usr/src
cp noverifyserver.patch /usr/src
cd /usr/src/orinoco-0.13e
patch -Np1 -i ../orinoco-no-promisc.patch
patch -Np1 -i ../xsupplicant/drivers/Linux/rekey_patch_orinoco-0.13e
make install
depmod -a
|
(from http://soulfly.nl/windesheim/wireless-howto/ dutch)
The patches succeeded! now to make install....
Code: | make -C /lib/modules/2.6.8-rc2-xyz3/build SUBDIRS=/usr/src/orinoco-0.13e modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.8-rc2-xyz3'

What does this error mean?
what are the factors that i need to concider to change?
gcc? kernel (i also tried nitro)? orinoco? (this is the one supplied with the installation so it should work)
Other information sources:
http://www.snt.utwente.nl/handleidingen/linux/Linux-WEP-Howto/ (english howto.. tried this one first, but i also get stuck at "make install" with the same error...
