Just finished emerging net-www/apache-2.0.52-r2 and on doing /etc/init.d/apache2 start I get
Code:
oxygen ~ # /etc/init.d/apache2 start
 * Unable to read configuration file: /etc/apache2/conf/apache2.conf
oxygen ~ #

on doing
Code:
locate apache2.conf

I get

oxygen ~ # locate apache2.conf
/usr/portage/net-www/apache/files/2.0.49/apache2.confd
/usr/portage/net-www/mod_log_sql/files/10_mod_log_sql_apache2.conf
oxygen ~ #
and yes I've already done
Code:
slocate -u

Any help :)

TIW

Code:
~ $ qpkg -f /etc/apache2/conf/apache2.conf
net-www/apache *

I'm having the same problem and re-emerging Apache didn't fix things.

Perhaps the ebuild is broken?

I've re-emerged it couple of times already.

emerged it with use flags..and with use all use flags turned off. Same result.

And now, cause it has behaved the same way on my 3 other boxes. I'd say its safe to assume that there is a bug in the ebuild.

Ok,
Its definitely the ebuild, I've sucessfully compiled the r1 ebuild and it had the files correctly. ALmost I guess we are going through some transition of apache now trying to have /usr/lib/apache2 as ServerRoot.

For now, I am just going to edit /etc/conf.d/apache2 & /etc/apache2/conf/apache2.conf to keep things the way they were ..ie with /etc/apache2 as serverroot and /var/log/apache2 for my error_log and access_log

Geez...this seems to be getting a bit out of hand. It's been, what, 6 months since the apache2 ebuild actually worked?

Just download apache-conf-2.0.52-r2.tar.bz2 over here and extract manually, works fine
