Hallo,
es war gestern abend schon etwas später in der Zeit, ich habe einiges an meinem system gebastelt und habe dann etc-update ausgeführt. Daben habe iich aus versehen die -5 option gewählt.
Seit dem Neustart des Systems ist diie Alte Konfiguration hin. Meine Frage iist nun, ob es eine möglichkeit gibt, die alten konfigurationseinstellungen wieder herzustellen.

Wenn Du kein Backup gemacht hast, sieht es nicht gut aus. etc-update macht leider keine Backups von ersetzten Konfigurationsdateien.
EDIT: Irgendwie war ich schon mal schneller

aus versehen, na klar.
machen wie du scheinbar jede menge hier (jede woche 2-3 threads ca.?!),
eventuell sollte man mal einen in blutrot geschriebenen eintrag in
"etc-update" hinzufügen, dass nicht nur ein ignorieren von "etc-update",
sondern auch ein stupides eingeben von "-5" den nächsten reboot killen kann.

They are generally major efforts but piecewise patches can be great helps.
If you are interested in helping, but don't have a niche that you are interested in filling, you can always look through bugs.gentoo.org. There are many many bugs waiting to be found and fixed and many enhancements looking to find someone to code them. Figure out a fix, implement it, test it, and then keep trying to make the patch smaller. Post it for review on bugs.gentoo.org, and keep working on it. If it seems ignored, make a new comment in the bug and/or mention it in #gentoo-portage. |

Ja. Es bestraft Leute, die sich um ein ordentliches Backup kümmern und sich dann auch noch um die Backups von den Backups kümmern müssen. Außerdem hilft es nur für den ziemlich speziellen Fall, dass man sich freiwillig das System selber zerstört. Und wenn das System mal zerstört ist, bringt ein systemimmanentes Backup womöglich eh nichts. Also bestenfalls als zusätzliche Option, nicht als Standard.
Abgesehn davon können die alten Daten durchaus noch auf der Platte und rettbar sein, weil technisch gesehn nicht die Dateien geändert werden, sondern durch zuvor vorhandene andere ersetzt und dann einfach ausgeklinkt werden. |
