The switchboard errors are gone (woot) but now there's something else
I've been getting:
Message could not be sent because a connection error occured
errors ALL THE TIME lately and it's very annyoing. Sometimes the end user gets the message but usually not. Anybody else experiencing this? It's red text that appears in the conversation window. |

That's MSN by design, being as useful as a blocked toilet in a busy nightclub. ICQ tends to handle network issues better than MSN from my experience, yet all the noob^H^H^H^Hnew users tend to love MSN because it ships with Windows XP and looks pretty.
Also, sadly, GAIM seems to crash if I try enabling the 'HTTP method' option for connections. So I just turn MSN off _________________ Answer a simple question with a simple answer! |

Why blaim MSN protocol?
Truth is that gaim sucks big time with MSN!
It is not useable (early alpha). And the MSN code
shouldn't make part of gaim because it's unstable!
But hey, they want to stay in the picture :>
Just try AMSN to see that there is nothing wrong with the MSN protocol. AMSN is rock-solid and even got a very stable proxy option. Also, it was the first with advatar, custom emoticon, buzz feature support and some more.
Gaim should do what it is made for: AIM
And unless an other protocol is not finished don't include it. Bad marketing |

These are two truts then
I don't know the msn protocol, so I can't discuss that.
I can belief that msn prot. is ugly. but there is also icq thats ugly.
But if opensource client A is rock-solid and client B can't stay connected for a couple of minutes with the MSN servers, my logic says that B has not implemented it right. |
