Hey, Im getting a wierd lag everytime I log into my ftp server, sometimes lasting up to ten seconds. Oddly it still logs in eventually, and it seems fine after that. I dont know what the issue is, I tried changing kernel's from teh gentoo-dev-sources to the vanilla development-sources. It does the same thing with both kernels. Using 2.6.9 for both and using Proftpd 1.2.10. Anyone had/seen this issue before?
btw its an nforce2 board with all the drivers installed right, DMA is on, it also doesnt have an lag on apache, ssh, or webmin, so far its the only program doing it. Thx in advance.

For some reason proftpd delays the log in sometimes (almost always when I do it from a computer on my network). I can't figure out why but it can't be the kernel sicne I have this problem and I run gentoo-dev-sources.

Ive set proftpd up 100 times without it ever doing this, so I doubt its a feature.

Yeah I don't know if it was an upgrade or a change in my config because I think I did both in the same day. All I'm saying is I know it's not the kernel so that should help you a little (I have no clue what could be wrong though).
