Hi,
ich habe mir einen Strato server geholt und moeche nun gentoo benutzen. Ich habe mich in das rescue system eingeloggt die hdd partitioniert und formatiert. ausserdem weil das tar nur alles entpackt was nicht mehr als 100 zeichen hat ein tar von meinem gentoo zuhause rueberkopiert. das selbe habe ich mit bzip2 gemacht weil das leider fehlt. dann habe ich stage3 geladen und entpackt.
proc geladen und mit chroot rein. dann portage upgedatet. kernel 2.6.9 mit e100 compiliert. ssh und grub installiert

natuerlich auch inittab angepasst das die serialle console geht. die ip habe ich auf dhcp gestellt. jedoch bekomm ich einfach kein ping hin. wenn ich mit der seriellen console arbeite sagt er immer network unreachable. wenn ich dann statt dhcp meine echten daten eintrage ip broadcast usw kommt das selbe.
jmd eine idee?

| Heißt das dass Du mit der Seriellen Konsole auch nicht auf das System kommst? |

| Und hast Du Dir mal die Boot-Meldungen angesehen? Und die Logs? Was passiert wenn versucht wird die Netzwerkkarte zu starten? Oder wenn Du das manuell machst? |

sieht alles super aus grr. ich versuche gerade den 2.4 kernel zu compilieren und schaue ob es dann geht. ich melde mich wieder wenn ich mehr weiss.

ich habe nun eine ganz normal gentoo installation mit dem handbook gemacht nur eben tar und bzip2 ersetzt. und es kommt garnichts weder serial noch ssh.
meine grub conf ist

habe auch emerge e100 gemacht und e100 in den kernel compiliert.
ausserdem habe ich der inittab

und in securetty
was kann denn nun noch falsch sein?

ich glaube das nicht stratos webtool war nur zu langsam da stand fertig aber der server kam waerend des schreibens meines probs hoch also 5 min spaeter. oh man wer kann denn das ahnen
