i need to boot from the 1.2 cd cos thats got the pcmcia modules and the nic modules i need, not loaded into the kernel which doesnt work. Unfortunatley when i boot it after loading the ramdisk it says
Code: | Kernel panic: Out of memory and no killable processes... | I dont get this problem with any of the 1.4 boot cds, the laptops got 32mb ram but this is the 1.2 cd. do i need a memory upgrade? _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

Does the kernel see your memory? You can specify it on the command
line if you need to, using the 1.2 boot cd.
Code: |
kernel mem=exactmap mem=640k@0 mem=31M@1M
|
If that doesn't work, it -may- be that 32M just isn't enough for the install.
The installation documentation says ideally it requires 64M of ram...
