The basic idea is: trying to insert all distfiles into 1.4rc1 CD using some cdimage tools such as winiso (or your suggestion)
To make these off-line CDs more organized and useful, all distfiles here mean all pre-X packages. Most of them are installed when following the installation guide. All other X and X-related distfiles will be put on another CD, because they don't need 1.4rc1 CD once the system gets up.
I know most packages can be downloaded by emerge -f packagename, but there are some packages during bootstrap and emerge system can't (or say, i don't know the right package names).
My question is:
How to collect all pre-X packages which can meet various installation on different computers, or more directly say, is it neccessary and how to edit make.conf (which is the only control file during gentoo installation) for such above purpose? |
