I'm looking to play *.mpc and *.wmv files with noatun. Are there plugins for these extentions or am I stuck with just mp3?
Thanks. |

AFAIK, beep-media-player and xmms are currently the only applications that support playing Musepack files.
However, it looks like with the latest gst-plugins release (0.8.6), there's a new plugin for musepack playback. So Musepack support for atleast amaroK, Rhythmbox and any other gstreamer supporting application should be coming fairly soon. I think noatun uses aRts for its multimedia framework (no basis for this assumption, just a guess), so for the meantime, I don't know if there's any hope for Musepack support at the moment in that program. |

Thanks for the info. I've finally gotten fed up with xmms and it's unholy crappiness. Tried BMP, same deal. I still need to give Amarok a try... |

actually, you are wrong...
there is an arts plugin included with kdemultimedia, which plays mpc's, so you can play musepack files just fine with any arts-powered app, including amarok, noatun or even artsplay... |

About mpc in gstreamer. I emerged the unofficial packages for that thing, but experience very baaaad quality with mpc-files. Anyone better luck/same problem/solutions ? _________________ "Computers in the future may weigh no more than 1.5 tons."
