I'm having a problem with my WPC54G (linksys) wireless card. For some reason it seems like its not getting power, no lights light up. But cardctl does say that it has a 3.3V card in and that it is ready...I have ndiswrapper and linuxant driverloader ready to configure the card but neither of them detect the hardware (the pcmcia card).

Output of lspci:
0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device cab3 (rev 05)
0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc PCI Bridge [IGP 340M]
0000:00:13.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc OHCI USB Controller #1 (rev 01)
0000:00:13.1 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc OHCI USB Controller #2 (rev 01)
0000:00:13.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc EHCI USB Controller (rev 01)
0000:00:14.0 SMBus: ATI Technologies Inc ATI SMBus (rev 18)
0000:00:14.1 IDE interface: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 4349
0000:00:14.3 ISA bridge: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 434c
0000:00:14.4 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 4342
0000:00:14.5 Multimedia audio controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP150 AC'97 Audio Controller
0000:00:14.6 Modem: ATI Technologies Inc IXP AC'97 Modem (rev 01)
0000:01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility 7000 IGP
0000:02:06.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1410 PC card Cardbus Controller (rev 02)
0000:02:07.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)

Also in dmesg I get an odd error when I pull the card out. I get "PCMCIA: socket c123ac30: *** DANGER *** unable to remove socket power"...Any help would be great...Thanks

EDIT: Forgot to mension im using kernel 2.6.9-gentoo-r4

I'm having the same problem. It seems to be a problem with the inf file from the cd. Perhaps we need to get a different inf file that is known to work.

It may not be worth much, but I used the Netgear XP drivers and ndiswrapper and my WG311 wireless card came up perfectly first try !!! ;-) Go ndiswrapper !!

i believe that i saw this output from lspci even before i installed ndiswrapper:

0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host bridge (rev 03)
0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX AGP bridge (rev 03)
0000:00:04.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1225 (rev 01)
0000:00:04.1 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1225 (rev 01)
0000:00:07.0 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA (rev 02)
0000:00:07.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE (rev 01)
0000:00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01)
0000:00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 03)
0000:00:08.0 Multimedia audio controller: ESS Technology ES1978 Maestro 2E (rev 10)
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage Mobility M3 AGP 2x (rev 02)
0000:02:00.0 Network controller: Texas Instruments ACX 111 54Mbps Wireless Interface

but if you can gt it detected it should work like a champ ... i used lstinds.inf out of the download listed in the ndiswrapper wiki

ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/wpc54gv2_driver_utility_v2.02.zip

but you issue may not be with the card but cardbus ... might try popping another card and running lspci again to see if it shows up
