Gentoo Creamy Center (for media)

OK, who out there has a really bitchin media center PC based on Gentoo, or any other non M$ distro? Can ya hook it up to your HD with ease? Kickass audio based on Audigy 2? Or another card? Myth suite kickin ass and takin requests? Is it still a good gamer machine? How difficult was it to set up? You got network audio devices in your lair? What works? What doesn't?

I think someone out there could make a mint developing a Media Center pc that's linux based, easy to use, more reliable and at least 200 bucks less expensive than the MS based competitors. Is the hardware support where it needs to be? Is there open-source software out there, but no one has successfully put a smooth distro out there for it? Or am I just a tard and haven't been paying attention?

Dumping what what WHAT? I saw the reason for my postcount drop...looks like 2/3 of my posts were on OTW, and those no longer count. How depressing! what's happening to gentoo forums? going bye bye?
