Hello all
I updated today (emerge -Duav world) and now I do not receive nor can I send email through exim which has worked flawlessly for the last 6 months. I am no expert and it was hard enough to set up in the beginning, but the problem seems to be present in the log files of exim which shows this
Quote: | 2004-12-16 11:11:12 marc@omschaub.serveftp.net R=localuser T=local_delivery defer (13): Permission denied: creating lock file hitching post /var/mail/marc.lock.omschaub.serveftp.net.41c1b3a0.00007878 (euid=1000 egid=100) |
Does anybody know where to reset the permissions and what to set them to. This is just a personal machine that I host my own personal email on and I would really like to get it working Another question about this is will the messages finally get delivered if I can set the permissions right? or were these bounced back to the server that tried to send them?
The only package that I can see that might have hosed this up is mailbase got updated.. but who knows
Any help would be greatly appreciated! _________________ Support bacteria -- it's the only culture some people have!

Mailbase breaks it. Until it is fixed do 'chmod 1777 /var/spool/mail'
