Check out Image 1 to see what it looks like.
In KDE, I go to Peripherals -> Joysticks and my Saitek p150 is recognized at /dev/js0(which is actually a ln from /dev/input/js0)
I can cat /dev/js0 and see output for a little while. I thought it might have only been Cedega causing the error, but even after a reboot, and the first thing I do is goto the Joysticks window, it'll still tell me that all the Buttons are PRESSED and that the axis are all at their minumum values of -32767. It's a simple 2 axis 8 button Joystick without a hat. I've tried compiliing as module for joydev.
It seems that accessing it is causing the problem. I've used the same joystick in Windows without errors. Regardless, the Joystick still gets into a stuck state and I have to reach into the back of the computer, unplug it, and plug it back in.

Can you confirm that it works with 2.4.22 ? - for me this was the last kernel to work with my saitech usb pad. |

I have rebuilt with 2.4.22-r20 with genkernel and it finally does work.
I tried genkerl on 2-4.26-r12 and 2.4.26-r13 with the same configurations files, but neither of them work. I only used genkernel to double check that it wasn't an error in my config file, but since it appears to not longer be supported after 2.4.22 I feel better about my config.
Also, I noticed in KDE that the Joystick app now shows it with only 2 axis.

I haven't had it lock up randomly so far, and it may be because of the axis part. I'd like to file a bug report, does anyone know who would get this one? |

Here are some guideline for reporting kernel bugs:
http://kernel.org/pub/linux/docs/lkml/reporting-bugs.html
But you'd better repeat the testings with vanilla kernels ( ie no patches, no -rXX ), or there is a good chance they will just ignore you.
