hi everyone,

I noticed that gentoo 2004.3 uses udev as default /dev entry manager. that's ok, that's very ok since devfsd is deprecated and udev is more elegant.

what's bad is that there are no /dev/mdX entries. I cannot mount or create software raid devices (which I use a lot!).

any hints on this? I'm tryiing to use mdadm (since raidtools is deprecated).

thanks everyone!

Add "--auto=yes" to your mdadm command line, and the apropriate device nodes will be created for you.
