Which is better: Raidtools or mdadm? Does raidtools have to be installed if mdadm is? Also, do you have to have the raidtab in /etc/ setup or just mdadm.conf? Does anyone have some good documentation on mdadm that I could read? |

It was pretty easy to figure out for me:
[*] raidtools chokes
[*] mdadm doesn't
I've seen lots of errors that I used to have when using raidtools that I attributed to "environment problems" (ie. other hardware borking it up, more specifically the dodgy SATA controller) that were magically solved when using mdadm.
Not to mention that raidtools is old and stuff |
