As PF4 mentioned in another thread, reverting back to freetype 2.1.5 r1 fixed the problem.
I compiled 1.0 rc3 of firefox, but I'm having a lot of trouble with it.
I can get to a few webpages fine (yahoo and google for instance) but numerous websites will immediately crash firefox (or sometimes just freeze it)
forums.gentoo.org freezes it
www.gentoo.org crashes it
any yahoo news story crashes it
...and the list goes on
I'm running xfce4.2, xorg 6.7, ati-drivers, 2.6.10 nitro kernel

Someone mentioned a .xinitrc option that helped for them. I did a locate on .xinitrc and I don't have it. What directory is it supposed to go in so I can create it.
