Hi!
I'm also trying to compile it.. I also get errors along the way..
What version are you trying to compile? It seems that 0.18 had compile errors and suposedly the new 0.19 works fine.. Well, for me it doesn't ..
Any luck? |

A few months short of a year later, I'm trying to compile it, too. I get the following error:
Code: | g++ -Wall -g -O2 `sdl-config --cflags` -DVERSION=\"0.0.19\" -I/usr/include/SDL -c -o build/linux/font.o src/font.cpp
src/font.cpp: In member function `void font::print_text(int, int, const
std::string&, bool) const':

each function it appears in.)

I just installed it remotely on my home box. The install worked flawlessly. Will test if it also runs later tonight. Anywayz I used fftw from here:
http://www.fftw.org/download.html
emerged scons and installed dangerdeep with Code: | scons
scons install |

Fixed my problem:
Apparently it didn't like NVidia's OpenGL... I had to switch to Xorg's Opengl (opengl-update xorg-x11) before compiling.

Hi
I have created the ebuild for the game to the best of my abilities. I needs some fixing to get it into portage, but it is already very usable. It installs the game
anyway I filled the bug into bugzilla https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110121
Fell free to use it _________________ Sky is not the limit... |

Wows Awesome!
I just came across dangerdeep, after contemplating there's no chance in hell to get any silent hunter version to work in Linux ever!
I got it to install & run manually, it looks sweet and I guess its going to look a lot sweeter in the future!
I was already wondering how to write an ebuild for a scons project - Installing the game is easy, but does it also uninstall it, maybe update it accordingly? |

hmmm, I suppose that's an error from the old ebuild, when dangerdeep used the scons builder , try re-emerging
Quote: | # emerge -av dangerdeep |
remember to do
Code: | echo ">=games-simulation/dangerdeep-0.2.0 ~xyourarch" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords |
either case could be that your missing some sdl-image sound library
emerge -s sdl.... and fetch d' pkg, that has any relation with sound..
some screenies!!

it's an incredible game, but still I haven't learned how to play it quite well
becozz everything is under-water, it's like being blind, you have all these artifacts to pull the steam to the turbines, load/unload torpedos,
ROLF that's what submarine simulator is =), right? |

I am still having problems hitting the targets with the torps.
