I'm trying to get my Sager 5660 notebook up and running with gentoo and I'm stalled a little building a kernel for it. I'm trying to get all my hardware up and running as fully as possible.

Since this is the first time I've tried getting laptop hardware running with linux. Can anyone offer me any help? Like where can I find the patches I need to get these various controllers up and running (mainly the intel 845 so I can have DMA on my harddrives..)
Any help would be appreciated! |

I don't think you'll need any patches to get the intel 845 running.
I'm running gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8 on a Dell Inspiron 8500 which also uses the intel 845 chipset. Working like a charm here.
For DMA just enable it in your kernel config and then use hdparm to tune your disk.
cheers
