I have searched the forum but could not find a post that suites my question. I cannot locate my memory stick/pen drive. I have already completed the following:

Running:
----------
- hotplug

- usbd

Built Into Kernel (according to other similar posts):
-------------------
- scsi emulation
- usb mass storage

+ Nothing shows in dmesg and nothing spits out in /var/log/message when I plug it in...
+ Flash drive does not show up in usbview

The directories /dev/sda and /dev/usb are there, but empty and dont symlink to anything. I am using kernel 2.6.9 and I know my USB stick is supported and works. I am able to use it on another non Linux machine and I have used it flawlessly about 2 years ago with Mandrake. Sorry if I left out any relevant information...can somebody please help or at least point me in a direction? Thanks in advance.
