weird problem with my network

I have 3 pc in my network one with a web-server (gentoo), anotherone with gentoo (ftp, email ssh), and a third one with win 2000

after a couple of hours my main comp the one with ftp, etc wont let me connect from a remote computer I thought that the comp was turn-off but from the windowz box I can ssh it to it and ftp and the router its find b/c I can access all of the other comp its just that one, and I have to restart it in order to gain access from a remote location directly

can't even ping to a port open in that machine from outside the lan

any ideas? I can't physically check the box since Im in Puerto rico and the box its in orlando FL but has to do with the pc because after the I restart the pc it works fine for a couple of hours

As a dirty fix you could set up "/etc/init.d/net.ethX restart" as a cron job--if that even helps.

I would check /var/log/messages for any strange happenings.

what are the settings in bios for power saving ?

and as already said, check for errors in syslog

I dont remember the bios setting but odd thing is that I can ssh from the win box from inside my network but not from outside so I doubt that the pc is going to sleepmode or anything

I tried restarting net.eth0 and nothing happen it stayed all the same
