How can I configure to make gentoo to shutdown my hdd when it is not active for a long time, say 30 mins, just like windows does. I have a usb disk connected to the computer all the time, I also wonder if it is possible to apply this to it too. THanks! |

uhmmmm shouldn't this be in a different catagory since it's in english but in the Chinese catagory?
anyhow... check out the options to hdparm. That has some stuff in there to tell the HD when to go into power saving mode.
