In another thread i saw posts advising to run
Code: | tune2fs -O dir_index /dev/hdXX
fsck -fvDy /dev/hdXX
|
Are there any reasons not to do this? I saw problems with corruptions in earlier kernels, are these all fixed now? Is there anything I should know before I try this? And are the performance boosts really there? |

I'm not really sure. Maybe someone else knows. |

I've been running with this on my main partition for a good while now - works like a charm, no problems at all with stability or anthing (latest gentoo-dev sources). |

Erm .. possibly I've been running it for a while now and I'm happy with it - so truth be told I can't quite remember what it was like before I set it up. Everything moves fairly snappy over here and it's stable - so why not ? |
