I am fairly sure I need IPMI to get my sensors to work correctly but my computer hangs on boot when I compile in support for IPMI, how do I get this to work?

#
# IPMI
#
# CONFIG_IPMI_HANDLER is not set

I have no idea what ipmi is but it certainly isn't necessary on my system to get sensors working..

what type of motherboard do you have? As far as I know only server boards have IPMI. If you really do have IPMI then I suggest you try compiling IPMI as module(s) and modprobe it (them) one by one until you get sensors to work.
Unless lm-sensors support IPMI or you have found some sensors program which support IPMI you'll probably need ipmitool (ebuild here) to see the sensor data.

Any idea where that ebuild's gone, as it'd really come in handy right now...

Thanks in advance.
