I am fairly sure I need IPMI to get my sensors to work correctly but my computer hangs on boot when I compile in support for IPMI, how do I get this to work? _________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. |

# IPMI

# CONFIG_IPMI_HANDLER is not set
I have no idea what ipmi is but it certainly isn't necessary on my system to get sensors working..

what type of motherboard do you have? As far as I know only server boards have IPMI. If you really do have IPMI then I suggest you try compiling IPMI as module(s) and modprobe it (them) one by one until you get sensors to work.
Unless lm-sensors support IPMI or you have found some sensors program which support IPMI you'll probably need ipmitool (ebuild here) to see the sensor data. |

Any idea where that ebuild's gone, as it'd really come in handy right now...
Thanks in advance. _________________ # charles leaver
