I need something. There is the problem:
root@thepostmana eleanor # emerge KWin
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "KWin".
Do anybody know what to do? |

Absolutely no idea what jap is meant to mean...
However, kwin is part of the kde setup. You need to emerge kde to get it, there is no seperate ebuild for it. An example would be trying to emerge the firefox bookmarks: it's a part of the whole programme.

Well, if you absolutely want kwin, you have to emerge kdebase and kdelibs.
It depends on what you really want to do. If you want KDE in its integrality, emerge kdebase and kdelibs. But if you just want a good replacement for twm, I think openbox or fluxbox are better for you. Try them. kwin is not good as a standalone wm, it's meant to be part of KDE. |

Err, I just saw the other thread from you. It looks like we misunderstood your problem. It seems that your problem is that you are already running KDE and that kwin is missing. Forget my previous post then.
But why did you start this thread? You already described your problem in the other thread (better than in this thread, actually). |
