Hallo, Ich habe mit der Gentoo 2004.3 Minimal CD ein Problem.
1) Sie erkennt meine S-ATA Platte nicht korrekt und in BIOS finde ich die von Flammenflitzer genannte Einstellung nicht.
2) Meine Netzwerkkarte wird nirgents ohne die Gigabyte Software erkannt.
Es ist ein 1000 Mbit On Board Adapter: Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter, Copper RJ-45
Die restliche HW steht einfachheitshalber in meiner Signatur-
Es gibt nur ein einziges OS, was meine Netzwerkkarte korrekt erkannt hat: Fedora Core 3
Ich gehe auch richtig in der Annahme, dass ich mit dem Prescott die i786 Architektur habe?

Ehm, Fedora ist kein OS sondern nur eine Linux Distribution,
Prescott ist P4 damit 686
Deine Gbit Ethernetkarte dürfte den Marvel Treiber SK98Lin benützen
probier mal ein modprobe sk98lin |

modprobe sk98lin was soll das sein?
Und gibt es keine Möglichkeit Gentoo auf einem rechner mit S-ATA Platte zu installieren, so dass Gentoo diese als sda erkennt? nicht als hda auch wenn das schon mal nicht übel wäre...
