Just to put some salt into open wounds (MD5 vs. SHA1)

In a recent technical paper the possibility to attack MD5 sums was described. As "workaround" a switch to SHA1 or even better SHA2 was proposed.

Now, my suggestion is: Why not using SHA1 in the next version of Gentoo (2005.0) and eliminate the MD5 vs. SHA1 discussion in the very beginning?
