|

hello all,
I have this little problem with my bttv videocard (pctv) and my webcam (se401). Sometimes, for no apparent reason (but there probably is one), video1 becomes video0 and v.v. I have both devices compiled as kernel modules, and they are called after eachother in the /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 file
What could cause this arbitrariness? Its a bit annoying because when you start the tv it has become the webcam. |

yeah, mine used to do that sometimes and it can get annoying. you could try either try putting one module at the top of the list and the other at the bottom maybe or take the second one you want loaded out of autoload and put modprobe <whatever> in your conf.d/local.start. _________________ --You talk the talk, but do you waddle the waddle?

ah yes, that last thing you mentioned should be quite reliable. Silly though that there is no official way to handle this stuff. Thanks! |
