I want to browse folders on other linux boxes on my network and have a link to a file or device on another machine on the desktop of my main machine. I tried to use the lisa daemon but it says "The Lisa daemon does not appear to be running. In order to use the lan browser the Lisa daemon must be installed and activated." i tried #/etc/init.d/lisa start but it says *WARNING: "the lisa daemon has already been started" and it also fails to stop whenever i shutdown or reboot.
any help will appreciated

Thanks
Rabbit

As a general advice, if one can't stop a service, then this service as failed to start (mostly caused by a misconfiguration).

You can init again the module with :

Code:
/etc/init.d/lisa zap

and try to find out what is the message error by starting the daemon by yourself, avoiding the script from gentoo.
