Bonjour et bonnes fêtes à tous :wink:

Voilà, je viens de faire une install toute neuve.
J'ai emerger xorg, fluxbox, xfce4.

Quand je veux démarrer fluxbox j'ai ce message: http://dark.caps.free.fr/log/startx
Quand je veux démarrer xfce4 (avec startxfce4), xfce4 se lance mais j'ai un écran noir avec la souris. C'est tout :x

Que ce soit avec pekwm, xfce4, j'obtiens:

pour y voir un peu plus clair faudrait que tu donnes le type de ta carte graphique et puis ton xorg.conf du même coup...

premier problème à vue de nez: tu n'as pas spécifié le BusID de ta carte, alors il l'a trouve pas...
pour le trouver simplement

# Xorg -configure

ce qui va te créer un fichier /root/xorg.conf.new, l'info y sera...
sinon
Code:
# lspci | grep -i vga
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV36 [GeForce FX 5700LE] (rev a1)

donc tu mettras dans ton fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf

BusID       "PCI:1:0:0"

ensuite, autre souci: si tu as fait

# emerge nvidia-kernel

il faut que tu mettes

Driver      "nvidia"

mais cette dernère partie n'est pas source de mauvais fonctionement....

Salut !
Je vais peu etre résoudre ton problème car je me suis fait avoir cette après midi en configurant un nouveau xorg
La méthode la plus facile est quand meme de faire (pour ma part hein :wink: )

xorgcfg -texmode

Ensuite, il faut éditer le fichier :

/etc/X11/xorg.conf

Regardes et changes s'il le faut
Est-ce que tu as :

/dev/mouse

Si oui alors change le en :
Code:
/dev/input/mouse

Normalement tu devrais plus avoir de problème si ca vient de là

Maintenant quand je lance xfce4, il me dit "(EE) No drivers available" alors que j'ai bien spécifié "nv" ...

Quand je veux emerger les drivers nvidia, prob de compatibilité kernel... Enfin, ça c'est pas grave, la 3D c'est secondaire :o

C'est la première fois que je bloque autant de temps sur une bête configuration de X. 8O

Il ne faut pas mettre les driver riva dans le kernel si on veux utiliser les driver nvidia.

Ils ne sont pas activés des drivers riva :o

Bon, je crois que j'ai assez perdu de temps, je vais passer à xfree, tant pis :'(

Bonjour j'ai un probleme sans doute similaire ; j'ai emerge les ati-drivers et j'ai cree mon xorg.conf grace au xorgconfig et en lancant startx j'ai l'erreur IO 25 egalement :
