Hello
Im new to gentoo, and have what may seem a very stupid gentoo question!
I have a 533MHz celeron processor. Do I need to download stage 3 from the x86 folder?

Stage 1 or stage 2 or stage 3 depending how much do you want to compile. (i recommend stage 3 but it's only my opinion;p) |

It really really depends on the exact model of celeron. I've seen (i've got one) which i can compile with "-penitum3" cflag, while others haven't got all the instructions of pentium3 and you HAVE TO compile with "i686" cflag.
You can try with penitum3 cflag, but if it fails in some packages, i recommend you trying i686.

About the stage, i also think stage 3 is the best idea in most cases. |
