Hey all,

I searched on this, to no avail, so please point me if I've errd in this post of not finding info on my topic.

Looking to see if anyone has installed Gentoo on any of the VoodooPC lappies. I'm about to ditch my eMachines m6810 d/t the fact that ATI blows.
(see my rant post at: www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?s=&threadid=267924)

Anyway, long story short, I'm configuring a nice light portable VoodooPc lappie ( the 3lb machine ) for my field work, and I want to keep it light and nimble with Gentoo. So, has anyone had any experience with Gentoo on these machines?

Tnx

Post up what your specs are? The only thing I could foresee not working is a wireless card.

Well, I'd assume that most of the Voodoo lappies have pretty much all the same hardware. Save for specifics like HD size, or amount of RAM.

I'll have to go back and re-config one, because my voodoo logon is fuqd right now, and they are draggin their ass fixing is.
I'll post back later on with the specifics, but I was just wondering if anyone had experience in general with the voodoo lappies.

Tnx.

Ok. If specs are needed, then here they are:

ENVY M:50 Olive Green
Motherboard: Envy Performance Motherboard
CPU: Pentium M Mobile 755 2.0GHz
RAM: 756 Meg Voodoo DDR-333

DVD Combo: ENVY Microthin DVD Reader & CD-Burner
System Drive 1: 60 Gig 7200 RPM Travelstar

Video Card: Intel 855GME 64 Meg 3D Graphics
Envy Display: 12" Ultra Light TFT XGA 1024X768 LCD

Wireless: Voodoo Envy G Wireless
Modem: Internal 56K Fax Modem
Network Card: ENVY High Speed Ethernet

So, I guess the components I'm most worried about are:
1) Intel 855GME 64MB Grafx Card
2) Voodoo Envy G Wireless
3) Envy High Speed Ethernet

So. There are the specs.
