alors voila, j'ai deja eu le probleme sur ma précedente installation, a savoir quand j'install nvidia-kernel et nvidia-glx, ca me dit que ca marche pas (un peut vite résumé je vous l'accorde  )
j'avait résolu le probleme en installant la derniere version instable des modules, seulement la j'install a partir du noyau gentoo-dev 2.6.9, avec le drivers instable ca marche pas non plus.
donc ma question est quelle version de nvidia-kernel je doit installer ou alors a quelle version antérieur du noyau je doit revenir ?

Quand tu dis ça ne marche pas, c'est à quel niveau ? le module ne se load pas ? Il y a un message d'erreur?

les voila j'espere que ca aideras, en tout cas c'est bizarre des que j'essaye de démarrer sur le module nvidia(qui se lance sans message d'erreur), soit j'ai un ecran noir et j'ai plus qu'a faire ctrl+alt+f1 pour revenir a ma console de départ, soit je plante completement avec obligation de reset.
ce qui est encore plus bizarre c'est que de temps en temps quand je peut revenir sur la console, j'ai un message que me dit que le port usb2 na pas pu etre activer, ce message revenant tout le temps, je suis obliger de redémarrer pour l'éviter.
je précise aussi que j'ai deja installer sur le meme matériel (100% pareil), la 2004.2 avec noyau 2.6.7 (development-source), sans probleme autre que le fameux module nvidia qui n'etaitp as le bon au debut, mais qui a été résolu en installant le plus recent en instable.

ah mais un écran noir avec reset obligatoire ça me rappelle qqch ça ! Laisse le pendant 5/10 minutes (oui oui autant !) et il continura comme si de rien n'était ! il n'est pas vraiment planté (si c le meme probleme que ché moi). J'ai une geforce3 Ti 200 et ce qu'on m'a dit sur le forum nvidia pour linux c'est un bug matériel d'un timeout qui se fait mal sur certaines cartes lorsque qu'on demande si qqch est connecté sur le port TV. La solution (si c'est le meme probleme que ché moi): ajouter cette ligne dans la rubrique device de xorg.conf:

Il me semble qu'avec ça le port TV et DFP de ta carte graphique sont inutilisable... mais d'abitude on n'en a pas besoin....
Sinon j'ai remarqué il y a qq jours que je ne suis plus obligé de mettre cette option. En effet j'ai fais un "Xorg -configure" pour avoir un fichier de config neuf (le mien datait de xfree) et bizarement ça marche sans la ligne que je t'ai donné plus haut. Tout ce que je peux te dire c'est que du temps de xfree-4.3 l'écran restait noir pendant 5minutes, puis continuait avec le logo nvidia et tout marchait bien, et que cette ligne résolvait le probleme.
Mais ton probleme n'a ptetre rien à voire ...  |

bah non c'est beaucoup plus con que ca, honte a moi je croyé avoir emergé la version instable de nvidia-glx en meme temps que le nvidia-kernel, et ben non je l'avait pas fait, putain faut vraimant etre con 
enfin bon ca marche impec maintenant, me reste plus qu'a trouver pourquoi ce putain de reseau veut pas fonctionner sous kde, mais ca c'est une autre histoire |
