Hi . I just built a computer from parts around my house. At the moment I dont have a spare nic but I have put in a generic pos wifi card that does work I do not know the model or make and gentoo doesnt pick it up automatically. I know there is a command that gives info on the pci stuff but I cannot think of it so I'm wondering what are some basic generic wifi modules I can try out. Thanks |

Thanks. It doesnt matter now though.. Damn motherboard crapped out. Oh well. |

For anyone else who reads this post there are wireless drivers in portage for specific chipsets. Some include madwifi, ipw2100, ipw2200. |
