i saw a post on this somewhere, but i cannot find it now when i esearch... so if someone can point me to it or just tell me a solution, that would be great 
when i play audio in kde, i only get sound from the right channel.
i have a sb live! emu10k1 card, and i am running it as a module

| probably you have to unmute the not-working channels. see the alsa howto for details. |
